The Rhodian Coin
The Rhodian Coin

“Helios and the rose of Rhodes — a timeless coin reborn in silver and gold.”
This design is inspired by the ancient Rhodian didrachm, one of the most celebrated coins of the Greek world.
Struck in silver between the 4th and 2nd centuries BC, it carried the image of Helios,
the radiant sun god and protector of Rhodes, on one side.
On the other, it bloomed with the rose (rhodon)
— a play on the island’s name and a symbol of its beauty and identity.
More than just money,
these coins were admired for their artistry and traveled far beyond the island through trade,
becoming tokens of pride, power, and memory.
Our piece reimagines this legacy in sterling silver,
plated with 24-karat gold
— a keepsake that carries the light of Helios and the eternal bloom of Rhodes, just as it did over 2,000 years ago.
